Chicago summer INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Chicago Internships

Program Dates: June 14, 2009 - August 8, 2009

The Chicago Internship Program provides you with an all-inclusive opportunity to complete an internship in Chicago, while having the chance to explore the Lake Michigan beach-front, Wriggleyville, or stroll down Michigan Avenue. After enrolling, you will work with a UOD Placement Agent regarding interview prep, resume revision, and ultimately, guaranteed internship placement in their industry of choice.

Included in the 8-week program are accommodations in the downtown loop at the University Center Chicago, 6-planned group weekend activities to introduce participants to the city, a weekly speaker series, a meal plan, an unlimited subway pass, and the opportunity to enjoy a summer in Chicago with the hundreds of motivated college students in the program from universities around the country.

Chicago, the third largest city in the United States, has something for everyone, as it is an energetic city with a lot of personality with each of its neighborhoods. It balances fine arts and architecture, live music, multiple sports teams, an abundance of shopping on Michigan Avenue, and some of the world's best restaurants. Most weekends for Chicagoans are spent down by the Lake Michigan beach front or relaxing in Millennium Park in the center of the city.

Chicago offers a variety of internships in a number of industries. Finance, interior design, advertising, public relations, and publishing are very competitive positions in a very established Chicago market.

Testimonials

“An internship in Chicago was a great way to network, meet new people and gain great experience in the industry I chose.”
- Jordan Kelman, Kent State University

“I got a lot of hands-on experience in my field and I never felt alone in my journey. The staff members are very approachable and willing to help, and having roommates who are in the same boat as you is awesome. It is not the same as a summer internship in your hometown. It is more useful, memorable, and life-changing to go away and challenge your comfort zone.”
- Donna Brancart, Eastern Michigan University

“This program has really provided me with a great experience. Not only did it help me realize that I want to stay in the industry I have wanted to be in, but it gave me the opportunity to live in Chicago, which is a great city. I will walk away with experience, knowledge of the Chicago finance industry and the city, and friends who I will be sure to keep in touch with.”
- Lydia Gutierrez, Ohio University

“This program was a great introduction to Chicago, a city I've never even been to. I was studying to gain a degree in an industry I was not sure about. I've learned so many life lessons from interacting within an office, navigating the city of Chicago on the subway, while dealing with other successful college students... nothing can compare.”
- Whitney Schaap, Florida State University
